Estimated Break (2019-2021)
installation (iron sheet, concrete construction materials)

The installation Estimated Break combines artificial boulders with perforated iron sheet in three distinct units of work, which stand for the “estimated” outcomes of a rupture.

From each solid body of rock a potential cross section is produced and materialized in the form of a new surface folded in space. The thin void of a cut is represented here through heavy materials that have undergone a rough processing.

What for a sculpture or a statue is considered to be damage brought by forces that separate the members from the body or break the face, when it comes to the landscape it is but a neutral process. It is a state of continuous formation happening under constant yet barely perceived violence. Estimated Break ponders on the landscape as an interaction between forces producing an ever-changing result.
